ST. ALBANS - Alice D. Knox, 75, passed away, following a lengthy illness, on Monday afternoon, July 18, 2011 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with her family at her side.
Alice was born on June 2, 1936 in Saint-Etienne de Bolton, Quebec Canada, the daughter of David and Cordelia (Godin) Allain.
In her earlier years, Alice resided in Richford where she was employed at the Northland Hockey Stick factory. She later moved to St. Albans where she worked in daycare and became very active in the foster grandparent program. Alice attended Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Albans. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and playing games and cards with her fellow residents.
Alice is survived by her sons, Eldridge David Knox of Swanton and Kenneth M. Knox of Springvale, ME; her granddaughter, Kali Miranda Knox of Springvale; her brothers, Norman Allain of West Brome, Que, Joe Allain and his wife Martha of Granby, Que., Ray Allain and his wife Carolyn of St. Albans and Richard Allain of Ferrisburg; her sisters, Claire Laramer of Cowansville, Que., Pauline Bonneau of Knowlton, Que. and Denise Allain of Burlington; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Eldridge J. Knox on August 14, 2010 and a son, Robert Knox.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Richford. Friends are invited to call at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave. in Enosburg Falls on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
