ST. ALBANS - Alyce Goodell, age 99 passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans.
She was born November 22, 1909 in Richford, VT the daughter of the late John & Clara Lafontaine.
She was a longtime resident of Chester, VT where she managed L.A. Carpenter Department Store for many years. She was active in local community organizations while in Chester, as well as an avid reader, card player (especially Bridge) and baseball fan.
She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Betty & Winston Warren; her grandson and his wife, Kris & Audrey Warren all of Ocala, FL; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hal Goodell; four sisters and two brothers, Bertha Archambault, Gertrude Coward, Irene Lavoie, Florence Fields, George Lafontaine, and Raymond Red Lafontaine.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visiting hours.
