ST. ALBANS - Andre M. Rheaume, age 78, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at St. Albans Health & Rehab.
He was born in St. Albans on September 29, 1946 to the late Mitchell & Jeannette (Parent) Rheaume.
A proud Navy veteran, Andre enlisted on October 19, 1965, and served honorably until December 20, 1968. Following his military service, he returned to his roots in Vermont, where he became a devoted community member. He was instrumental in growing accounts for Frito Lay as a salesman and delivery driver, but it was his role as a milk truck driver for McDermott Trucking Co. that truly endeared him to the farming community. His positive attitude, unwavering work ethic, and great sense of humor made him a beloved figure among his customers and the farmers he served.
Andre was not just a hardworking professional; he was a passionate advocate for youth sports. A devoted Little League baseball coach, he inspired young players with enthusiasm and dedication. His knack for organizing neighborhood wiffle ball games brought together friends and families, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie that will be fondly remembered by many.
He is survived by his children, Robert Rheaume and his wife Ashli, Scott Rheaume and his wife Hailee, and Nicole Rheaume and her significant other Roger Laplant; grandchildren, Jasmine DuBois, Emma Rheaume, Grace Rheaume, Valor Rheaume, Iris Adams, Reese Rheaume, and Sophia Rheaume-Laplant; great-grandchildren, Silas, Sky, and Sev; siblings, Paul Rheaume and his wife Imelda, Guy Rheaume and his wife Lise, Norman Rheaume and his wife Sharon, Claude Rheaume and his significant other Jeff, Francis Rheaume and his significant other Sandy, Pierre Rheaume, Lucille Lacross and her husband Phil, Diane Greeno, and Denisse Hewitt and her husband Dan; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Andre was predeceased by his brother, Robert Rheaume, and his brother-in-law, Gary Greeno.
Friends & family are invited to Andre's life celebration to include visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Church of the Nativity, 65 Canada Street, Swanton, VT. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Swanton.
