ENOSBURG FALLS - Anita C. Paradee, age 78, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Vermont Respite House in Williston.
She was born July 27, 1936 in Sheldon to the late Albert & Ida (Justras) Menard.
Anita was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1953. Anita was married to the late William W. Bill Paradee Sr. Together, with their children, they farmed for 27 years in Sheldon. After Bill passed away in 1980 she moved to Enosburg Falls and began working at Spears Pharmacy. Anita sold the family farm to her son Danny in 1987 and retired in 1998 with 16 ½ years at the pharmacy. Her hobbies included shopping, going to lawn sales, collecting and going to craft fairs.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Diane & Kevin Quiet of Vergennes, William Jr. Bobby & Tina Paradee of Sheldon, Steven & Cathie Paradee of South Berwick, ME, Debra & Dale Eggleston of Phoenix, AZ, Paul & Becky Paradee of Bumpass, VA and Daniel & Kathleen Paradee of Sheldon; 16 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren; her siblings, Daniel Menard and his wife Joyce of Fairfield, Gerald Menard of Palm Springs, CA, Hortence Vanslette of Highgate Springs and Ruth Brosseau and her husband Leo of Garden Grove, CA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa Terri Menard, Dora Paradee and Thomas Paradee and his wife Ellen all of Fairfield, Mary Boudreau and her husband Richard of Franklin and Barb Colby of St. Albans and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends - especially those on Maple Park. Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her husband, William W. Paradee Sr. in 1980 and her siblings, Furman and Maurice Pete Menard, Hilda Minnie Demar, Marion Mantegani-Lussier and Lucille Kinerson.
Anitas family would like to thank Dr. William Brundage and his staff, particularly Mary, from the University of Vermont Medical Center and the staff of the Vermont Respite House for the great care given to her over the past several months.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau officiating. Interment will be held this spring in St. Anthonys Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon Springs.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 4-7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
