MONTGOMERY CENTER– Anne Voos, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
She was born in Göppingen, Germany on July 7, 1945 to the late Otto and Hildegard (Weiss) Unterriker.
Anne grew up in several small towns in southern Germany as her family worked on farms and ran a restaurant. Anne was passionate about getting an education and once she completed her secondary education she moved to Esslingen for work. There she met her future husband, Klaus, who was living in the same apartment building. After the wedding, she and Klaus moved to Detroit, Michigan. After seven years in Detroit, Anne and Klaus moved back to Germany, living in Deizesau. Three years later they welcomed their son, Bernard, into the world. In 1983 Anne and family moved to the US once more, settling in Shelton, Connecticut. There Anne continued her education at Housatonic Community College and after graduating she had a successful career as a legal secretary. Anne developed a wide circle of friends in Connecticut, often hosting dinner parties at her home. Anne’s hospitality, warmth, and delicious cooking were the toast of the town. After retirement, Anne and Klaus settled in Montgomery Center, Vermont. In Vermont Anne enjoyed skiing, kayaking, and reading a good book in front of the fire with her cat, Chloe.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Klaus Voos of Montgomery Center; son, Bernard Voos of Amsterdam, Netherlands; sisters, Gerda Eberspächer of Esslingen, Germany, and Romana Binder of Waldenbuch, Germany.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on May 4, 2022 at the Montgomery Center Cemetery.
