RICHFORD - Arlene M. King, age 81, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 with her family at her side.
She was born November 14, 1932 in Franklin, the daughter of the late George & Locada (Bouno) Domingue.
Arlene grew up in the area and married Hollis King on September 8, 1951. Arlene and Hollis shared a love for music; she even played snare drum in his band. Together they raised 7 children. Arlene enjoyed playing games, particularly Aggravation, Bunko and Rummy. She also enjoyed going for walks and was a great baker. Arlene was an active member of the Light House Assembly of God Church and the Eagles Club Auxiliary in Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Helen Hoose and her fianc Jack Cash of Richford, Barbara Embury and her husband Glenn of Berkshire, Lori Sampietro and her husband Keith of Montgomery, Dale King and his wife Tammy of Richford and Holly Ryea and her husband George of Richford; her grandchildren, Angel Siple and her husband Troy, April Winegar and her husband Chris, Amber Rock and her husband Jason, Travis Broe and his friend Iris, Kami Broe and her friend Nathan, Sarah and her husband SSGT Randy Jewett, Patrick Curtis, Myron Embury and his friend Deanna, Jessie Ryea and her friend Chad, Jerica Broe and her friend Josh, Samantha King and her friend Jared, Trever Ryea and his friend Nicole, Megan Chauvin and Austin King; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her sisters, Beatrice Taggert of Swanton, Marion Mosley of Bellevue, FL and Agnes Castle of Winooski; a son-in-law, Robert Monty of Hinesburg; close family friends, Bobby & Marsha Gross of Richford, Raymond Monty of Hinesburg and Alice Lafrance of Milton ; her dog and faithful companion, Odis and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her husband, Hollis King in 2009; her son, Peter King in 2010; her daughter, Maggie Monty in 2011; a son-in-law, Mathias Hoose in 2008 and 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 878 Horseshoe Rd., East Berkshire with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating.
