MONTGOMERY CENTER - Armand D. Frenchy Landry, age 72, passed away Saturday evening November 15, 2008 at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington following a short battle with cancer.
He was born December 6, 1935 in Sawyerville, Quebec Canada the son of the late Lucien & Alida (Nadeau) Landry.
Frenchy moved to Richford with his family in 1947. In 1955 he joined the United States Air Force serving proudly for 22 years with time served during Vietnam, receiving an honorable discharge with the rank of Master Sergeant and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. Following his military career he settled in Montgomery Center where he was a self-employed carpenter having built many beautiful homes in the Montgomery / Jay area. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and had a love of good food. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida.
He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Michelle & John Novakoski; 3 granddaughters, Brooke, Bailey & Brenna all of Dunbarton, NH; his sisters and their husbands, Cecile & Ralph Demers of Enosburg Falls, and Therese & Gaston Begnoche of Montgomery Center; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a great nephew, Luc Gates.
Interment with full military honors will be held at Friday November 21, 2008 at 9:00 AM in the Landry family lot at All Saints Cemetery in Richford.
Funeral services will follow the committal on Friday November 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center with Rev. Daniel Jordan celebrating the Mass of Christian burial.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
