Arthur "Bill" McFarland

MONTGOMERY CENTER - Arthur R. Bill McFarland, age 84, husband of Connie (Lumbra) McFarland, passed away Monday evening, November 19, 2012 at the St. Albans Health Care Facility in St. Albans.
Bill was born in West Burke, VT on February 5, 1928 the son of the late, Raymond J. & Margaret C. (Bushaw) McFarland.
Bill was a 1946 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School and in the same year he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during WWII, receiving his honorable discharge in 1948. He was employed at Worthmore Feeds and then Agway in Enosburg Falls & St. Albans retiring in 1992. Following retirement he worked part-time at Bates Farm & Home in Enosburg Falls.
He was a member of St. Isidores Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #42 of Enosburg Falls. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing and was also an avid bowler.
He is survived by his wife Connie McFarland of Montgomery Center. Bill & Connie were married August 9, 1952. He is also survived by his children, Timothy McFarland of Burlington, Patricia Rollings and her husband Victor of Chazy, NY, Jane Sanpetrino and her husband Joseph of So. Burlington, Raymond J. McFarland of Essex Ctr., and Nancy Benson and her husband Craig of Underhill; his grandchildren, Tyler Bryce, Justin Rollings and his wife Kristina, Chad Rollings, Clay, Travis & Alyssa Benson; his sisters and their husbands, Hughlene Dena & Paul Plouff of Sheldon, and Pauline and Robert Beede of Meza, AZ; his sister-in-law, Marion McFarland of Derby, CT; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother, Hugh Pat McFarland.
Funeral services will be held Monday November 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Isidores Catholic Church, 169 Mountain Road, Montgomery Center with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. Isidores Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
