Audrey J. Jewett, age 92, passed away on Monday, November 4th, 2024 at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, surrounded by her family.
Audrey was born on February 28, 1932 to the late Wilfred and Lucille Minckler
Audrey was a proud alumna of Enosburg High School and Champlain College. Throughout her 37-year tenure at Fonda and her subsequent 10 years at Franklin County Rehab, where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her dedication.
Outside of work, Audrey found joy in simple pleasures - cooking for her family, basking in the sun at the beach, and taking any opportunity for a picnic anytime. She was an active member of several community groups, including the Sheldon Historical Society, the Red Hats, St. Albans American Legion, St. Albans VFW, Catholic Daughters and Linda's Delights. Audrey also found solace in music, often showcasing her talents on the piano and guitar, and she was known for her melodious voice during gatherings.
Audrey's love for literature was evident in her vast collection of books, as she was an avid reader. Her outgoing nature and zest for life made her the life of the party, and an amazing hostess. She relished in bringing laughter and joy to those around her. As well as sharing a good time with her girlfriends. She was an amazing seamstress and loved to have the "Stylish Outfit".
Audrey is survived by her children, Michael Kittell and his wife Pam, Bonnie Martin, Beth Ann Kittell-Machia and her husband Earl, and Andrea Jewett; grandchildren, Stephanie Kittell, Brandi Samson and her husband Daniel, Jesse Mode and his wife Cortney, Jason Mode, Zackary Machia, Dylan Machia, Riley Machia, and Logan Jewett; great grandchildren, Laurel Samson, Ty Samson, Noah Mode, Parker Mode, and Hadleigh Mode; sister, Marie Raymond and her husband Ralph; and many nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Lucille, her sister, Theresa Stanhope, brother, Sonny Minckler, son-in-law, Jim Martin, ex-husbands and fathers of her children, Laurel Kittell and Richard Jewett.
Friends and family will be invited to Audrey's life celebration events to include visitation on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024 from 4-7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 at 1:00PM at St. Anthony's Church, 117 Shawville Road, Sheldon Springs, VT. Interment will follow in Sheldon Village Cemetery.
