Barbara Kennison Jeffords

ENOSBURG FALLS - Barbara R. Kennison Jeffords, age 86, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab Facility.

She was born January 24, 1932 in Montgomery, VT the daughter of the late Elmer & Bertha (Longey) Longe.

Barb was a lifelong resident of Montgomery & Enosburg Falls and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Along with her husband Richard Kennison, she was Co-Owner and Secretary of R.P. Kennison Plumbing & Heating. Upon Richards untimely passing in 1971 she embraced the role of a devoted single Mom to her 5 children. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Enosburg Falls Water & Light Dept. for many years.

She belonged to the 45 Card Club, American Legion Auxiliary Post #42 of Enosburg Falls, and the Enosburgh Fire Dept. Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Deborah & Allen Demar of Enosburg Falls, David & Kelley Kennison of Berkshire, Dale & Laurie Kennison of St. Albans, Danny & Tammy Kennison of Berkshire, and Doreen & Kenneth Laplant of Berkshire; cherished grandmother to 14 Grandchildren & 18 Great Grandchildren; her brother, Richard Longe of Sheldon; her sister, Kathryn Dulude of Enosburg Falls; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Barb was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children, Richard Kennison; her second husband, Merrill Jeffords; her siblings, Marjorie Comings, Bernice Ryea, Hilda Duffy, Geraldine Newton, Leonard, Clifton & Floyd Longe; her sister-in-law, Shirley Longe; and her brother-in-law, Joseph Dulude.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
