ENOSBURG FALLS - Bernolene N. Roddy, age 94 passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab facility.
She was born in Enosburgh on January 18, 1924 to the late Roland & Alice (Phillips) Messier.
Bernolene spent all her life in this area and graduated from Richford High School. She married Terrance Roddy on August 17, 1946 and they raised 3 children in Enosburg Falls. Bernolene worked as a cook for many years at Enosburg Falls High School and the Enosburg Falls Country Club. She was also a talented seamstress and wall paperer. Bernolene, along with her 2 sisters, was well known for her beautiful singing voice; she continued to sing up until her passing. Her home was the gathering spot for her nieces, nephews and childrens friends. They all have many fond memories of growing up at the Roddy home in Enosburg Falls.
She is survived by her children, Terrance Mickey Roddy and his wife Gisele of The Villages, FL, Sandra Bacon and her husband Nate of Farmington, NH and Poinsettia, FL and David Roddy and his wife Georgette of Highgate; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Lavallee and her husband Rob, Patrick Roddy and his wife Heidi, Chris Bacon and his wife Amy, Jennifer Willey and her wife Jenna, Melissa Bacon, Renee Roddy and her significant other Daren, Joseph Roddy and his wife Crystal, Beth Shepard and her husband Chris, Matthew Roddy, and Jonathan Roddy and his significant other Erica; 15 great grandchildren; her sister, Natalie Nan Guilmette of Enosburg Falls; brother-in-law, Rolla Barry of Hyde Park; very special nieces, Virginia Kilmer & Mary Wright and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Bernolene was predeceased by her husband, Terrance Roddy; her sister, Audrey Barry; her brothers, Hubert Steve Messier and his wife Phyllis and J. Wesley Messier and his wife Marjorie; her brothers-in-law, Richard Guilmette, and Harry Roddy and his wife Frances; and her sisters-in-law, Imogene Collins and her husband Owen, and Edna Columb and her husband Fred.
Bernolenes family would like to thank all of the Nurses and LNAs from St. Albans Health & Rehab for the excellent care she received over the past several years.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 4-7:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
