RICHFORD - Betty M. King, age 79, passed away Wednesday morning June 8, 2011 in Franklin at the home of her niece, Grace Fournier.
She was born November 23, 1931 in Richford the daughter of the late Adolphus & Lorena (Fecteau) King.
Bettys family moved to North Berkshire in the spring of 1932 where she was raised and worked on her parents farm for 33 years and in 1965 she moved back to Richford in a home on Noyes Street. She worked at several different sewing shops, Northland Hockey Stick Factory, Vermont Futures Job, Careys Restaurant, Zekes Diner and retired from Cross Border Services on May 10, 1996. In 1998 she worked for Franklin County Home Health Agency to help care for her mother. She enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Phyllis Waterhouse of Franklin and Mary Goddard of Richford; her sister-in-law, Arlene King of Richford; several nieces & nephews and their families, including a great niece and godchild, Amber Rock of Hinesburg. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brother, Hollis King and brother-in-law, Robert Waterhouse and Albert Goddard.
Funeral services will be held Sunday June 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
