ENOSBURG FALLS - Beulah M. Jewett - Messier, age 91, passed away Wednesday morning November 19, 2008 at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls with her loving family at her side.
She was born August 2, 1917 in Montgomery the daughter of the late Charles & Betty (Lumbra) Foote.
Beulah grew up in Montgomery (West Hill). She married Floyd Jewett on October 15, 1932, he passed away in 1978. Beulah worked for many years in Connecticut as a machine operator at Alpine Electronics and retired in 1980 at which point she moved back to Vermont. She then married J. Watson Messier in 1981 and he passed away in 1985. Beulah & Watson enjoyed many happy years at their home. She truly enjoyed all of her grandchildren and their families. She was young at heart and always welcomed anyone into her home where you had to have coffee or tea and something to eat.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Floyd F. Jewett Jr. and Rochelle of Naugatuck, CT, Bertha Sis Reed and Norton, Arbutus Babe Reed and Morton all of Enosburg, and Diane Chaplin and Clarence of Shelburne; her step children and their spouses, Shirley Clark of Enosburg, Freda Barry and Donald of Belvidere, Larry Messier and Joyce, and Reginald Messier and Junith all of Enosburg; 30 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; a brother Raymond Foote and his friend Elaine of Wolcott; a son-in-law, Marty Jones of Amenia, NY; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, Beulah was predeceased by children, Doris, Ronald, Cedric Ted & Darlene; siblings, Harold, Herbert, Carlton, and Donald Foote, Evelyn Jewett, and Annabelle Britch.
Funeral services will be held Sunday November 23, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Jon Bly officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bakersfield.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
