BELVIDERE - Beverly J. Eldred, age 86, passed away Friday January 13, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
She was born in Island Pond, VT on May 26, 1925 the daughter of the late Raymond & Frances (Lafountain) Casavant.
Beverly was a devout Christian and lifelong resident of Belvidere who spent most of her life lovingly raising her 7 children. She was an excellent cook, listener and quilter, often selling her award winning quilts at local gift shops and ski resorts. Beverly loved listening to worship music and occasionally adopting or helping stray animals. She will be remembered as a great woman who was always there for her children, grandchildren and community.
She is survived by her son, Artie Tanner of Belvidere; her daughters and their husbands, Beverly & Neale Brown of Colchester, Debby & Wes Wimberley of Selah, WA, Valerie & Lee Gabbeitt of South Burlington, Pamela & John Lyzanchuk of Yakima, WA, and Darlene & Ed Shearer of Portland, ME; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents Beverly was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Tanner Sr., her second husband, Kermet Eldred Sr., and her son and daughter-in-law, Kermet Jr. & Cheryl Eldred.
In keeping with Beverlys wishes there will be no public services at this time, a graveside service will be held this spring in the Belvidere Center Cemetery.
