WEST BERKSHIRE - Beverly G. Mercy, age 70, widow of John A. Mercy, Sr. passed away at her home on Saturday morning August 8, 2009 following a long illness.
She was born May 26, 1939 in Dunkin, Quebec Canada, the daughter of the late Loren & Belle (Searles) Fuller
Following a short period of working outside the home, Beverly devoted her life to raising her family. She loved to watch the birds, work in her flower gardens, and cross stitch. She became a naturalized United States Citizen on January 15, 1982. During her illness she enjoyed and looked forward to the many visits from the Nurses from Franklin County Home Health. She was also very thankful for the care received from Dr. Von Lepel.
She is survived by 3 sons, Wayne Mercy and Glen Mercy both of West Berkshire, and John J. Mercy, Jr and his wife Wendy of Montgomery; 1 daughter, Marlene Chates her companion Raymond Desautels of Highgate; her grandchildren, Nathan Chates and his partner Michael Guyette of St. Albans, Bryan Chates and his friend Priscilla Pagan of Highgate, Nicholas Chates of Highgate, Ethan Mercy of Montgomery, and Kristin Mercy of Montgomery and her boyfriend Isaiah Fletcher; her great grandsons, Caleb Landry and Joseph Billado; her sister, Melba Ryea of Richford; her brothers, Walter Fuller of Brownsville Jct., ME, and Bruce Fuller and his wife Sharon of Richford; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Beverly was predeceased by her brothers, Lloyd Pug Fuller, and Lyle Shag Fuller; her sister, Josephine Boyce; her brother-in-law, Eugene Jug Ryea; and her sister-in-law, Ardiss Fuller.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center.
Visiting hours will be held Monday from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
