EAST FAIRFIELD - Burton A. Burt Hale, Sr, age 68, passed away Saturday June 25, 2011 at the Burlington Health & Rehab Center.
He was born March 10, 1943 in East Fairfield on the family farm, the son of the late Burton H. & Caroline A. (Lawyer) Hale.
Burt was a 1961 graduate of Brigham Academy. He held several jobs in manufacturing including positions at Fonda Container in St. Albans and Lavallee & Ide in Winooski. He also drove truck for Alan Vaillancourt in West Enosburg and Farrell Distributing in So. Burlington.
He enjoyed golfing, listening to country music, watching professional wrestling and NASCAR with his favorite drivers being Dale Earnhardt Sr & Jr. He was also a fan of the Boston Red Sox. Burton had many fond memories of growing up on the farm which he enjoyed visiting about with his family and friends. His family will remember Burt as the person always wanting to have fun and not one to take lifes problems too serious.
He is survived by his children, Kelley Godin and her husband Roger of Turner, ME, Audra Rondeau and her husband Chris of Enosburg Falls, Andrew Hale and his wife Denise of St. Albans and Travis Hale and his wife Rebecca of Jericho; his grandchildren, Randy Godin of Enosburg Falls, Carmin Godin of St. Albans, Christian Godin of Turner, ME, Christopher, Alex & Alaura Rondeau of Enosburg Falls, Drew Hale of St. Albans, Christina & Trevor Hale of Jericho; his siblings and their spouses, Barbara & Horace Riley of East Fairfield, Richard & Georgette Hale of East Fairfield, Cora & David Ovitt of Bakersfield, Carolyn & Robert Clark of Milton, Stuart & Ruth Hale of Albany, Marvin & Sandy Hale of Springfield, MA and Mark & Terry Hale of East Fairfield; a brother-in-law, Brian Wright of Waterbury; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Burton was predeceased by a son, Cody Hale; and a sister, Brenda (Hale) Wright.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the Egypt Cemetery in East Fairfield.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.
