RICHFORD- Carole M. Sherrer, age 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at her home in Richford surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born in Drummondville, Quebec on August 24, 1954 to the late Laurent and Doris (Mondoux) Marcoux.
Carole grew up in Drummondville until moving to Troy, VT when she was in 6th grade. She attended Troy Elementary School, Sacred Heart, and graduated from Richford High School in 1974. After graduation, she married Ricky Sherrer on July 13, 1974. They made their home in Richford with their three children. Carole was a talented seamstress and worked at John Fregeau's sewing factory in Richford and Enosburg. She then went on to work in food service locally including Blouin's, Richford Schools, and most recently Mac's deli in Richford until her eyesight began to fail. She was also a member of the Auxiliary in Richford. Along with sewing, Carole loved knitting, quilting, snowmobiling, and most of all, cooking. Carole looked forward to cooking and baking for her family and friends and quickly became famous for her tourtière, baked beans, frosting, peanut butter pies, and macaroni and cheese to name a few. Carole had a knack for letting you know how things should be done and liked them her way. She always put her loved ones' needs before her own and had a generous heart, especially when he came to helping an animal in need.
