RICHFORD - Caroline M. Rivers, age 64, wife of Roy Rivers, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning November 18, 2008 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born December 31, 1943 in North Troy the daughter of the late Clifton & Margaret (Burnor) Combs and grew up on a farm on Bear Mountain in Troy
Carolines various places of employment were at Gilmans 5 & 10 in Richford, Northland Hockey Stick Factory in Richford as supervisor, Sewing Factory in Enosburg, Johnson Woolen Mill in Johnson, and many area dairy farms with her first husband Raymond Wright. Caroline was an avid seamstress and enjoyed to go to yard sales and rummage sales. She loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Rivers of Richford. They were married on September 16, 1995. She is also survived by her children, Raymond Wright Jr. and his wife Mary of Bristol, Caroline (Wright) Elkins and her husband Lyndol Jr. of Berkshire, Herbert Wright of Richford; Tammy Gutierrez and her husband Adrian of Paris, TN, John Rivers of Richford, and Jamie Rivers of So. Richford; her grandchildren, Kory Wright, Jennifer (Wright) Combs and husband Jody, Amy Wright and boy friend Matthew Raymond, Larry Elkins, Jeremey Wright, Emily & Katelyn Spears, Jonathan Gutierrez, Megan Rivers, and Ashley & Mikel Rivers; her great grandchildren, Jorden, Jelissa, Jody Jr. & Julie Combs, Hayley Tracy, and Matthew Raymond Jr.; sisters, Muriel Tauper of St. Albans, Joyce Thompson of Richford, and Henrietta Combs of Barre; a brother, Eugene Combs and his wife Francine of Richford; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Anita Friot. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Raymond H. Wright Sr. on July 27, 1992; her brothers, Merton & Walter Combs and several infant siblings.
In keeping with Carolines wishes funeral services and visiting hours will be private. She will be interred at the Hillside Cemetery in Richford.
