FRANKLIN - Carroll R. Jed Adams, age 77, passed away at his home on Tuesday January 24, 2017 with his family by his side.
He was born December 27, 1939 in New London, New Hampshire the son of the late Leslie & Clara (Dunham) Adams.
Jed grew up in Sheldon and attended Sheldon Elementary School and was a 1957 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. Following high school Jed entered the U. S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Jed moved back to Vermont in 1969 to settle down and started his working career at the Sheldon Pulp Mill and then was a machine operator for the Pipeline. He then worked at Franklin Foods in Enosburg Falls retiring after 33 years of dedicated service. He will be remembered by his family and co-workers for his strong work ethic.
Jed was a member of the American Legion Post #42 of Enosburg Falls and the Missisquoi Valley Sportsman Club. Jed always looked forward to the Annual Adams Family Reunion. He was an avid hunter and in his later years enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his children, Jeremy Adams and his partner Lisa Holappa of Franklin, Travis Adams and his wife Amy of Franklin, Jerod Adams and his wife Trish of Berkshire, and Rebekah Adams of Franklin; his grandchildren, Bridgette, Kristina, Gracey, Emily, Brady, Wyatt & Owen; the mother of his children, Beverly Adams of Richford; his siblings and their spouses, Sherman & Leona Adams of Fairfax, Florence Flossie Powers, of Northport, FL, James & Janice Adams of Fairfield, Mildred Carpenter of Fairfield, Leslie Adams of Pequea, PA, Muriel Lavoie of Johnson, Franklin Cookie & Mary Adams of Richford, and Priscilla & Arnold Haydu of Bethel, CT. Besides his parents, Jed was predeceased by his son, Josh Adams on December 3, 2014; his sisters, Eunice Blouin & Irene Adams; his sister-in-law, Jeanne Adams; and brothers-in-law, Gene Powers, Calvin Carpenter & Richard Lavoie.

A memorial service will be held Saturday January 28, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will be held this spring in the Rice Hill Cemetery in Sheldon. Visiting hours will be held at the Spears Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 PM.
