ENOSBURG FALLS – Charles Gordon Machia, Jr., age 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday June 22, 2021.
He was born in Sheldon, VT on April 25, 1941 to the late Charles and Inez (Carr) Machia.
Charlie spent much of his career driving tractor trailers from Vermont to Florida. He enjoyed the adventures of the road, making friends everywhere he visited. Charlie enjoyed listening to Christian and country music as well as truck driving songs. Charlie liked to share his harmonica skills with anyone that wanted to listen. He also enjoyed playing the spoons in church.
Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by his son Scott; and his brother Howard. He is survived by the children of his first marriage, Anthony and Charles III and their mother Shirley; the children of his second marriage, Mellissa (Machia) Willequer and her husband Paul, and Michael Machia and his wife Crystal and their mother Gwendolyn; grandchildren, Matthew, McKenna, and Mariah; his siblings, Donald Carr, Clifford Machia, Elizabeth Labelle, and Esther Hayden and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Charles would like to thank Ethan Perry and his family of Derby, VT for all the care and love given to Charlie over the years.
Friends and family are invited to Charlie’s Life Celebration to include military honors on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickenson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT. A private burial will be held at a later time in Franklin Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you offer a good deed to someone else in Charlie’s memory.
