MONTGOMERY - Charlotte M. Deuso, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at St. Albans Health and Rehab in St. Albans surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in South Richford on January 14, 1929 to the late Mitchell & Ora (Fletcher) Bolt.
Charlotte married David, the love of her life in 1946 and they began running a family dairy farm together. She also worked in food service at Alpine Haven and Jay Peak. She was always willing to lend a hand at the Montgomery Methodist church bazaars and events and enjoyed driving elderly folks to their doctors appointments. Charlotte made it a priority to care for everyone around her, always unselfishly putting herself last. She was formally recognized for her heroic efforts in 1997 for alerting the Montgomery Fire Department of the rising waters and lives that were in jeopardy. Charlotte enjoyed lawn sales, auctions and crafting. But above all, spending time with her family was what made her the happiest. Her kindness and love will be missed by all that were honored to have known her.
She is survived by her children & their spouses; David M. Buddy & Sharon Deuso of Fairfax, Edward M. & Donna Deuso of Highgate, Jeannie & Larry West of Enosburg Falls, and Michael & Mary Deuso of Montgomery Center; 8 grandchildren, Steve Deuso & his wife Rise of Queensbury, NY, Justin Deuso of NC, Gina LeClair & her husband Luke of South Hero, Lisa Deuso of St. Albans, Jessica Eagles & her husband Duane of Enosburg Falls, Joshua West & his wife Kathryn of Groton, MA, Kaitlin Benoit & her husband Jake of Richford, Kelsi Deuso & her fianc Seth Larivee of Franklin, Tonya & her husband Andy of NY; 6 great grandchildren, Bradyn Eagles, Samantha Eagles-Ryea, Griffin Deuso Gauvin, Clara & Grace Benoit, Blake Larivee, Ethan West; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, David in 2009; siblings, Clair & Max Bolt, Jessie Wetherby; a grandson, Dennis Deuso; and a nephew, Bruce Bolt.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the Montgomery Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service at Spears Funeral Home.
