RICHFORD - Cher Ann Combs, age 33, passed away Friday evening February 8, 2008 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following a brief illness with her loving family at her side.

Cher was born in St. Albans June 2, 1974 the daughter of Stephen & Candice (Lawyer) Combs Sr.

Cher was a lifelong resident of Richford and a 1992 graduate of Richford High School. Cher was a very intelligent person studying Medical Coding through Alfred State College on-line program. Her many hobbies included being on the computer, reading Stephen King books, collecting perfume & make-up, taking pictures especially of her niece and nephew, Rylee & Gavin. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family & friends most importantly Rylee, Gavin and her cat C.J. Puda . She was also her moms personal chauffer. Chers family will remember her for never complaining and always worrying about her family.

She is survived by her parents, Stephen & Candice Combs Sr. of Richford; brother, Stephen Combs Jr. and his fianc Amanda Mayhew and their children, Rylee Olivia and Gavin Ian all of Berkshire; sister, Casey Combs of Richford; Maternal Grandmother, Dorothy (Dudley) Lawyer of Richford; aunts and uncles, Ronnie & Joan Lawyer of Swanton, Connie & Earl Curtis of Alburgh, Donna & Jim Casavant of East Hardwick, Lyman & Karla Lawyer of Enosburg, Michael & Lori Lawyer of Troy, Jeffrey & Kim Lawyer of Enosburg Falls, Jackie & Robert Garrow of Malone, NY, Yvonne Combs, Carlton Pete Combs and his companion Grace Martin, and Nancy Combs all of Richford. Also, many cousins and friends including, Rachel Russin and Sallie Royea. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Reginald Jack Lawyer; paternal grandparents, Homer H. & Lillian (Deuso) Combs Sr.; uncle, Homer H. Combs Jr..

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating assisted by Chers uncle, Jim Casavant.

A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.

For those who wish, contributions in Chers memory may be made to the Cher Combs Benefit Fund, C/O Amanda Mayhew, 3512 Berkshire Center Rd., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450. These funds will be added to funds raised at a benefit that is scheduled for March 8th at the Richford American Legion to help Chers family offset the expenses incurred during her illness.
