Christine Martin

BAKERSFIELD - Christine Shirley Martin, age 88, died October 16, 2009 at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, Vermont.

Christine was born in Bakersfield on December 25, 1920, the daughter of John Victor and Jessie (Jewett) Martin. Christine graduated from Brigham Academy and the University of Vermont. She taught high school math in Vermont schools, retiring from Spaulding High School in Barre.

Christine is survived by her nephew John Mitchell and his wife Patty of Essex Junction; also by grand nephews Christopher Snow and his wife Kristine of Mansfield, Massachusetts, Gregory Snow and his wife Heather of West Warwick, Rhode Island, Spencer Mitchell of Randolph, Vt., Jeffrey Mitchell and his wife Ann-Margaret of Fitchburg, Massachusetts; a grand niece, Lynn Finn and her husband Michael of Westford, Vermont, nephew Frank Snow of Hill, New Hampshire and seven grand nephews and niece. She was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Mitchell and her husband Lee, and by her niece Penelope Snow.

In keeping with Christine\u0027s wishes there will be no funeral services or visiting hours.
