FRANKLIN - Claude Jacques Larose, age 86, passed away Friday March 14, 2008 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with his family at his side.
He was born August 31, 1921 in Roxton Pond, Quebec Canada the son of the late Joseph & Marie (Despart) Larose.
Claude moved to Franklin at the age of two and has been a lifelong farmer since the age of fifteen. He enjoyed farming so much that he is quoted I have never worked a day in my life . He was an avid horseman working with horses farming and sugaring. His family was most important to him and among the many things they will remember him for the one thing that stands out the most is that Claude enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Franklin.
He is survived by his wife Lorette (Godin) Larose of Franklin. They were married October 21, 1947. He is also survived by his children; Daniel Larose his wife Mary and their children Kaitlin, Jacques & Patrick, Claudette Carswell her husband Daniel and their children, Alex & Chris, Dale Larose his wife Marsha and their children, Elizabeth & Hannah, and Karen Quintin her husband Andre and their children, Seth & Connor; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Claude was predeceased by 2 brothers, Gabriel Larose, and Bernard Pat LaRose.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Catholic Church in Franklin with Rev. Bernard Bechard celebrating the Mass of Christian burial.
A time of visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
