Cora Clark

December 1, 1923 — December 30, 2024

SHELDON - Cora Phyllis Crowe Clark, age 101, peacefully passed away December 30, 2024. Born December 1, 1923 to Robert and Alice (Stephenson) Crowe, Cora was a long time resident of Sheldon, VT where she was born and raised. She grew up on the family farm on Crowe Hill and later moved to Sheldon Springs. After retirement she lived in Enosburg Falls and Bradenton, FL.

After high school Cora worked as a switchboard operator at the Sheldon Mill. After having children she returned in a secretarial position. She was an active member of the Eastern Star for most of her adult life and was actively involved in the Sheldon and Enosburg Falls Methodist churches.

She married Raylan Clark in October, 1944 in Sheldon, Vermont, who predeceased her in 1989. Cora and Raylan owned and operated Clark's House of Flowers in Sheldon for over 20 years. After her retirement she became a foster grandparent in the Enosburg Falls schools where she was adored. She took great pride in being a part of educating some of Enosburg's youth. Cora also very much enjoyed spending her winters at her son and daughter-in-law's home in Florida where she could walk and swim outside most every day.

Cora will always be remembered for her contagious laugh, her generosity and her stories of her life growing up on the family farm. Her recollections of mischievous play with her sister Margaret are most remembered. Cora and Margaret enjoyed a very close bond for their entire lives. Cora's grandchildren remember most her outdoor spirit; Cross country skiing, hikes to the Big Rock and campfires on the hill.

Cora is survived by her daughter, Toni, son-in-law Wayne Hull and their children, Sonja Hull and Melissa Buzzato; her son Michael, daughter-in-law Margaret and their children Michael J., Jon and Jason Clark; and daughter, Elizabeth, son-in-law John Miller and their children Jeffrey R. Pignona, Heather Bessette, Hannah Lambert-Buck, and Hilary Lambert; 13 great-grandchildren, 2 Great-great grandchildren and special niece Carolyn Bronz. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her four siblings, Gwendolyn Davies, Robert S. Crowe, John Crowe, and Margaret Kimball.

At Cora's request there will be no public services. Interment will be a private family ceremony.
