MONTGOMERY - In loving memory of Dale "Puffer" Lumbra January 24, 1953 - April 4, 2024.
Join us in celebrating the man, the myth, the legend that was Puffer. We will be honoring his memory with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Though he may no longer be with us his spirit lives on in each of us through the many memories and stories he has enriched our lives with. We will be collecting and compiling these many memories in a photo collage during the celebration. So if anyone has any photos or items they would like to share please bring them to the celebration.
Puffer's family will be making some runs in his honor at Jay Peak Ski Resort on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM and they will be meeting on stateside if anyone would like to join.
Puffer's celebration of life will be on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 1-4:00 PM at the Snowshoe Pub & Lodge, 13 Main street, Montgomery Center, VT 05471.
As we navigate through this difficult time following the passing of Puffer we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from each of you. Your kind words, gestures, and presence have been a source of comfort while we adjust to this new reality.
While we grieve the loss of our beloved father we are also navigating arranging celebration and cremation services and with Puffer's wishes also trying to arrange a Labor Day "Hoe Down" as we did in the old days but that can not happen until a later date and more planning and notice can be given. Your support during this time is greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small will make a meaningful difference. Even if its just buying a round for the family if you can not be in attendance. To contribute Venmo tlumbra or send cards, or checks to Tara Lumbra, 211 Mountain Road, Montgomery, VT 05471. Again, we cannot thank everyone enough for all the love and support during this time. Love Trevor, Tara, and Delwin Lumbra.
We also found this letter to the editor amongst Puffer's belongings. It is about our grandfather the original "Puffer" but it still rings true today with this Puffer and we wanted to share it with all of you because no truer words were said about the King that was Puffer:
PUFFER IS EVERYWHERE
To the editor:
Elvis was the king from Nashville, Tennessee
But Puffer should be our King here in Montgomery.
He was our friend and is missed by all
He was taken from us when the Lord made his call.
The gates in Heaven must have swung open wide
When they knew Puffer was coming inside.
So come before our Lord this season with praises sing
And ask the Lord to crown Puffer "Our Montgomery King".
