ENOSBURG FALLS - Dana George LaCoste, age 63, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at his home in Enosburg Falls.
He was born on July 30, 1961 in St. Albans to the late George Jr. & Anicette (Bergeron) LaCoste.
He spent his childhood in Sheldon, Vermont, where he became the eldest of three children, a role he embraced with love and responsibility. Dana graduated from B.F.A. St. Albans in 1979 and was a proud member of the football team. Over the years, he contributed his skills and efforts to various local companies, working at the cheese plant in Swanton, Sunhill Foods, and Fonda Container in St. Albans.
Dana married Denise (Root) on May 20, 2000, at the Sheldon Casino, where they began a journey filled with laughter and shared moments. Dana enjoyed the outdoors and found joy in hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. His passion for collecting model cars was a testament to his attention to detail and lifelong enthusiasm for craftsmanship. A lover of stories, Dana could often be found reading or watching westerns, and his love for NASCAR brought excitement to his weekends.
He is survived by his siblings, Dwayne LaCoste and his wife Rosemarie of Enosburg Falls, and Denneen Wolcott and her husband David of Fairfax; siblings-in-law, Joseph Root of Richford, and Roseann Root of Swanton; and several nieces & nephews which include Sierra LaCoste of Franklin County, George LaCoste III whom he had a very special connection with Chantelle Benedict and her husband Henry of St. Albans. Also Phyllis Bovat the mother of Sierra & George who was also a care taker and friend. In addition to his parents, Dana was predeceased by his wife, Denise LaCoste; sisters-in-law, Linda LaCoste, and Dorothy Root; and long-time family friend, Larry Bovat.
In keeping with Dana's wishes, there will be no public services.
