RICHFORD - David F. Johnson, age 62, passed away Monday evening, February 22, 2010 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born January 4, 1948 in Fairfield Center the son of the late Bernard M. & Juanita (Mayo) Johnson.
David worked as a farmer most of his life and truly loved working with cows. He began farming for Rosaire St. Pierre in Berkshire. He then worked at the Lucille Farms Cheese Plant in Swanton for 9 years and then worked security at Wyeth in Georgia for a short period. He went back to farming for Gavin Ryan in Fairfield having to retire on March 13, 2009 due to failing health.
He enjoyed dancing, bowling and camping and most of all loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla M. Tiny (Glidden) Johnson and their daughter Jenna both of Richford; his children, Nathan C. Johnson and his wife Michelle of Enosburg, Amanda S. Johnson and her companion Larry Sherman of Swanton, and Ashley L. Johnson of Sheldon; his grandchildren, Gabriel Johnson, Luc Sherman, and James Cooper; his brothers, Clifford H. Johnson of Ocala, FL, Bernard D. Johnson of Berkshire, Michael J. Johnson of Ocala,FL, and John Johnson and his wife Doreen of Enosburg; his sisters, Darla Donna and her husband Alan of Richford, Patricia A. Johnson of Deland, FL, Dale M. Wetherby of Richford, Sherri Mercy and her husband Buster of Montgomery, and Sarah Donna and her husband Burton of Richford; a former brother-in-law, John Wetherby of Richford; a very special friend and mother to his children, Tina Menard of Sheldon; many nieces and nephews; and his loving pets, Oliver & Oreo. Besides his parents, David was predeceased by a sister, Carol Sue Johnson; and a very good friend, Deanna Carr.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the Berkshire Center Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.
