Burlington/Highgate - Denis Real Gagne, 60, a resident of North Champlain Street in Burlington, died on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Junction.
Denis was born on August 13, 1947 in Princeville, Que., Canada the son of the late Donat Alfonse and Eva Marie (Chauvette) Gagne. He was a US Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.
Denis was raised on his familys farm in Highgate, he attended Highgate High School and had been a resident of Burlington since the late 1960s. He worked as an electrician for several companies before staring his own electrical business. He retired from full time electrical work in 2005. Denis was a former member of the V.F. W. in Burlington. His hobbies included sailing on Lake Champlain, hiking, camping and enjoying the outdoors.
Surviving are a son Ken Gagne of Lakeland, FL; a grandson JeanMichael Armand Gagne of Lakeland, FL.; his siblings Carmen Gendron and her husband Raymond of St. Gabrielle de Brandon, Quebec, Susan Pomerleau and her husband Albert of Prevost, Quebec, Lisa Purdy and her husband Don of Newton, CT, Gisele Gigi Beauregard and her husband Hilaire of Berkshire, Roger Gagne and his wife Louise of Franklin, Andy Gagne and his wife Linda of Sheldon and Francine Gagne of Highgate.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls with the Rev. Richard ODonnell, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Church in Enosburg Falls officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
