Dianna Reed

SWANTON - Dianna N. Reed, age 81, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Swanton.

She was born June 5, 1943 in Hagerstown, MD to the late D. Howard & Julia (Hastings) Nagley.

A native West Virginian and lover of amusement parks, roller coasters, and all things Goofy, Dianna possessed a heart as big as her adventurous spirit. She was a patriot and fervent supporter of the United States military and cherished the American flag. She loved racing, which explains the speed at which she drove, and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Jr. Dianna also enjoyed watching football and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fueled by her love for family, Dianna found great joy in spoiling her grandchildren and embracing her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Always on the move, with a fresh Diet Coke from McDonald's in hand and a sweet treat from Steve's Whoopie Pies. Dianna's love and sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew her. Although she was stubborn and strong-willed, she had a heart of gold that left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. This was demonstrated through over 30 years as a case worker for the State of Vermont, tirelessly helping countless individuals rebuild their lives, and becoming a beloved mother figure to so many who were touched by her firm, but unwavering support.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Norbert "Nobby" Reed; children, Bernard Gage Jr. and his wife Angela, Thomas Gage and his wife Carol, David Gage and his wife Joy, Michelle Young and her husband Chris, and Angela Voerman and her husband Marco; grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Sara, Amanda, Jonathan, Andre, Andrew, Nicholas, Samuel, and Anna; great grandchildren, Allen, Quinn, and Grayson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members of the Nagley family in West Virginia, and the Reed family in Vermont. In addition to her parents, Dianna was predeceased by her sister, Donna Morrow.

Friends & family are invited to Dianna's life celebration to include a funeral service in Vermont on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT 05488. A funeral service in West Virginia will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home, 327 West King Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg, WV.
