ENOSBURG FALLS - Dolores Elsie Miller, age 88, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, November 30, 2015 after a long period of ill health.
She was born in Sheldon on September 17, 1927 to the late Clement & Gladys (Ploof) Raymond.
Dolores graduated from Enosburg Falls High School, class of 1944, and briefly attended the Jeanne Mance School of Nursing in Burlington. She went to work for the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company; first in St. Johnsbury and later in St. Albans. Dolores spent most of her working years at the Franklin County Home Health Agency. After retirement she continued working part-time at the Enosburgh Public Library - the perfect position for a life-long reader.
Her many hobbies included working outside in her vegetable and flower gardens, sewing, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She enjoyed playing cribbage, at one time she was the secretary of the Enosburg Falls Womens Cribbage League.
Dolores leaves behind her two sons, Ross Miller of Enosburg Falls and Mark Miller and his wife Lorri of West Berkshire; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jean Lund of St. Johnsbury and Linda MacDonald and her husband Stephen of Hampstead, NH and eight nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Laurel & James Matheson; her siblings, Muriel and Bruce Raymond; a brother-in-law, Russell Lund and a niece Jill (Lund) Harkins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Mill St., Sheldon Springs with Fr. Karl Hahr officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anthonys Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
