MONTGOMERY - Donald Fillion, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home in Montgomery.
He was born in Boston, MA on January 14, 1933 the son of the late Arthur & Ruth (White) Fillion.
Donald had a very distinguished 32 year career as a sports writer for the Burlington Free Press. His accomplishments include being inducted in to the Norwich University Sports Hall of Fame, the Vermont Principals Association Sports Hall of Fame and several sports writer of the year awards. Don loved all sports but he had a real passion for skiing, golfing and auto racing. He also loved spending time with his family, especially cookouts.
He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of nearly 60 years, Klara Fillion; their children, Mark, Brian and Steven Fillion and Barbara Burns and her husband Richard and Virginia Streeter and her husband Robin; several grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 12-3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
