Donald Machia

HIGHGATE - Donald Machia Sr., age 79 of Highgate, Vermont passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2024 at the UVM Medical Center.

Donald was a jack of all trades, if it was broke, he could definitely fix it. He loved his summer flower and vegetable gardens and would share it with anyone that stopped in for a visit.

Donald leaves behind his loving partner of 29 years, Marjorie Ward of Highgate; his children, Donald Machia Jr. and his wife Misty of Highgate, VT, Chad Machia and his wife Anna of New York, and Andrew Machia of St. Albans; Marjorie's children who we thought of as his own, Tammie Day, Carlton Ward and Sherry Thompson; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; siblings, Beverly Desorcie, Sally White, and Diane Valtrin and her husband George, Eleanor Snedecor, Sandra White, and Lorraine Plouffe; in-laws, Arnold Domina, Mary Tibbits, Raymond Domina, Fran Bean, and Joyce Dragon; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Donald was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Earl, Wendall, and Thorton Machia.

At Donald's request there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
