NORTH BERKSHIRE - Donald Ivan Stanley, age 87, passed away Monday morning February 5, 2007 at the home of his daughter-in-law following a brief illness.
\tHe was born July 1, 1919 in East Berkshire the son of the late, Hobart Harley Stanley and Glenna Vail (Tibbets) Stanley.
\tDonald was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He lived most of his adult life in Norwich, Connecticut where he worked on the railroad. For the past 3 weeks he made his home with his daughter-in-law in North Berkshire. It was through her graciousness that Donalds request has honored; to live his final days in the town that he grew up in and ultimately to be buried next to his son.
\tHe is survived by his daughter and her husband, Ruth & Bob Wilson of Watertown, NY, a step-son, Will Stanley of Norcross, GA; daughter-in-law, Linda Stanley of North Berkshire; grandchildren, Jack, Brandy, Ryan, Robert, Angel, Priscilla, Megan, Bobby Sue & Clint; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son, Dallas Jack Stanley; 2 brothers, Kenneth & Richard Stanley.
\tFuneral services will be held Friday, February 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will be next spring in the East Franklin Cemetery.
\tA time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
