SHELDON - Dorcas M. Bushey, age 67, went peacefully to the Lord on Thursday November 1, 2007 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with all her loving family at her side
\tShe was born March 14, 1940 in Sheldon the daughter of the late Maynard & Arlene (Currier) Beyor.
\tDorcas married Joseph Bushey Sr. on May 17, 1958, he predeceased her in 1976. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles and NASCAR and the New York Yankees. Every spring there were many weekends spent planting flower gardens around the yard. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren. Walking with her grandchildren was a highlight of her days. Since the age of ten her passion was to take care of someone, this continued with caring for her grandchildren until her illness made her unable to enjoy that time. Also, watching her grandchildren play sports brought her even more joy as well as her biweekly walks to the library.
\tDorcas was a care giver in the area for many years helping at the Stanley Home and for Leona Stephenson, Thomas Philips, Gwen Davis, and Wallace Kittell.
\tShe is survived by her children, Morleen Moss her husband Bruce and their daughter Aimee of Swanton; Joseph E. Bushey Jr. of St. Albans; Donna Hansen her companion David Frances her sons, Aaron, Ethan, daughter Alyson her children Devon & Dante and Davids children David Jr. & Jessica all of Swanton; David Bushey his wife Lisa and their children Alena, Holly & Jeremy all of Sheldon; Lisa Sweet her companion Bobby Gonzalez and her children, David Jr., Joseph & Josh all of Killeen, TX; Ann-Marie Parizo her husband Chris her children, Nate, Hannah of Sheldon, Christie her companion Dereck Thresher and his children, Ceomania & Michael of Fairfax; Steven Bushey of Sheldon; and Tammy Merchant her husband Travis and their children, Ashley & Brittany all of Sheldon; her sisters, Alma Sturges of Hartford, CT, Veronica Danserau and her husband Maurice of St. Albans, Marshia Ellison and her husband Richard of Newington, CT, and Shela King and her husband Robert of Newington, CT; her close friends and neighbors, Cathy Longley and her companion Jack Medeiros and the many caregivers at the St. Albans Dialysis Unit. Besides her parents and husband Dorcas was predeceased by a son-in-law, David Sweet Sr.; her father & mother-in-law, Eugene & Susie Bushey; her sister-in-law and her husband, Lillian & Sparky Lapan; and close friend Pam Witham.
\tFuneral services will be held Monday morning November 5, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Sheldon Methodist Church with Rev. Donavee Copenhaver officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Sheldon Village Cemetery.
\tVisiting hours will be held Sunday from 3-6 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
