Dorcas McAllister

RICHFORD - Dorcas Anne McAllister peacefully passed away at home with her loving family on October 19, 2023, at the age of 67. Born on February 23, 1956, in Saint Albans.

Dorcas spent most of her formative years in Vermont, where she played a vital role in helping to raise her younger siblings. She was known for her nurturing nature and always went above and beyond to support her loved ones.

Throughout her life, Dorcas was admired for her excellent organizational skills, often serving as the family's planner and bookkeeper. Her attention to detail and dedication made her an invaluable member of the community where she served as treasurer for the Richford Center Cemetery Association. She dedicated her professional career to the USDA Farm Service Agency, working as a loan officer, where she made a meaningful impact on numerous farmers' lives.

Dorcas shared a beautiful bond with her late husband Carroll, and together they enjoyed hosting annual parties at their camp, creating lasting memories with friends and loved ones. Their warm hospitality and love for gathering people together will always be remembered.

Dorcas is survived by her cherished daughter, Adrianne McAllister of Richford; her siblings, William "Jeff" Gilpin and his wife Barb McNally, Matthew Gilpin and his wife Robin, and Lucious Thompson and his wife Laurie all of Enosburg; her siblings-in-law, Randy McAllister and his wife Jan of Richford, and Marcella White and her husband Dean of Milton; many nieces & nephews; her doggy daughter, Bella and beloved granddog, Bentley. Dorcas was predeceased by her husband, Carroll McAllister; and her mother, Rita (Davis) Thompson.

Friends & family are invited to a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 1-4:00 PM at the Richford American Legion, 35 River Street, Richford, VT.
