Doris Hull

WEST ENOSBURGH - Doris E. Hull, age 86, passed away Saturday morning January 22, 2011 at Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans.

She was born February 15, 1924 in Berkshire Center the daughter of the late Oscar & Lillian (Lafleur) Harvey.

Doris was raised in Berkshire where she attended the Berkshire Elementary School. She was a 1942 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. On November 23, 1944 she married Wendall Corliss Hull who predeceased her on December 25, 1999. Doris & Wendall made their home in West Enosburgh where they farmed for many years. She was a member of the West Enosburg United Methodist Church and UMW and taught Sunday School & Bible School and served as Secretary. She was a member and served as secretary of the former Tyler Branch Grange. She had also been active in 4-H and Home-Dem. Doris loved farming, gardening, flowers, cooking, sewing, crafts and her dogs.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Patricia & John Mitchell of Essex Jct, and Warren & Marie Hull of West Enosburgh; 4 grandsons, Spencer Mitchell of Randolph, Jeffrey Mitchell and his wife Ann-Margaret of Fitchburg, MA, Matthew Hull and his friend Dr. Jennifer Taylor & Eric Hull and his wife Danielle all of West Enosburg; 2 granddaughters, Lynn Finn and her husband Michael of Westford, and Katherine Bennett and her husband Courtney of West Enosburg; 7 great grandchildren, Anthony & Massimo Mitchell, Meghan & Justin Finn, Carly & Chloe Bennett and Logan Hull; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Harvey of Franklin; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Rona Cohen of Bakersfield. Beside her parents and husband, Doris was predeceased by her brother, Garnet Harvey; and her sister, Marjorie Messier and her brother-in-law, Wesley Messier.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the West Enosburg United Methodist Church, 1725 Tyler Branch Rd., West Enosburg with Pastor Jon Bly officiating. Interment will follow in the West Enosburg Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
