Duane Sturgeon

Duane Sturgeon, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17th, 2025 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

Duane was born on January 9, 1948 to Carlton and Ruth (Aubin) Sturgeon.

Duane had a love for Farmall Tractors and old antique cars. He started work at UCONN as a Crafts worker at age 17, until he retired in 2003. He loved his garden and growing vegetables, as well as spending time splitting and burning wood. He was a dedicated, loyal and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

Duane is survived by his wife, Faye Sturgeon; son, Shane Sturgeon and his wife, Laura; grandson, Shane Sturgeon Jr; great grandchildren, Caden and Hazen Sturgeon; sister, Shirley Labombard; nieces, Kira, Karen, Bobbi, Amy, Melanie; special cousin, Chris Connelly; beloved canine companion, Sophie. Duane was predeceased by his parents, Carlton and Ruth, sister, Norma Labombard and brother, Junior Sturgeon.

A service for Duane will be held at a later date.

A special thank you to all of the doctors and nurses that cared for Duane, especially Amira on the PCU unit at Northwestern Medical Center.
