ST. ALBANS / ENOSBURG FALLS - Edward Arnold Eddie Garrow, age 80, passed away Saturday February 12, 2011 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
He was born in Montgomery on June 11, 1930 the son of the late Donald H. & Lillian (Green) Garrow.
In his early years Eddie worked on several area dairy farms. During the Korean War Eddie was drafted into the U.S. Army on August 3, 1954 and received his honorable discharge July 31, 1956. Upon his discharge he went back to working on farms in the area before becoming the custodian for the Enosburg Falls Elementary School which he faithfully did for 37 years retiring in 2003 as the Head Custodian. He also drove school bus during that time and for several years after. Eddie was known by many people around the county and will be remembered for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his son, David Garrow of Middlebury; his sisters, Janice Longe Marston of Enosburg Falls, Gyneth Hauter of Ocean, NJ, and Helen Ashton of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his wife, Joyce (Pudvah) Garrow; and a brother, James Garrow.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will be held this spring in the Richford Center Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
