RICHFORD - Elaine L. Sheltra, age 82, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans with her loving family at her side.
She was born June 20, 1931 in Montgomery, VT the daughter of the late Richard & Dorcas (Donna) Elkins.
Elaine was a resident of Richford most of her life. She worked for several years at the Bobbin Mill and devoted much of her life to raising her family. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, listening to country music and jigging. She especially loved family gatherings.
She is survived by her companion, Carmen Mayhew of Richford; her children and their families, Sandra Dennis her husband Joe of Bristol, CT and their children, Ricky Dennis, Tammy Dennis & Tina Brant and her husband Steve; Wayne Sheltra his companion, Rosemarie of St. Albans and his children, Jamie Sheltra, Cher Sheltra, and Scott Fish; Sharlene Rushlow of St. Albans and her children, Shawna McAllister and her husband Robert, Darin Daudelin and his wife Jen, and Krista Bourgeois and her husband Mike; Junior Sheltra his companion Sandi Gendron of St. Albans and his son, Trevor Sheltra; and Ronnie Sheltra his wife Becky of Richford and their children Cameron, Cassie & Carly Sheltra; several great grandchildren; her brothers and their wives, Lyndol & Lila Elkins of Montgomery; Francis & Linda Elkins of Montgomery and Rocky & Lori Elkins of Enosburg Falls; her sisters and their husbands, Charlotte & Raymond Parent of Enosburg Falls, and Brenda & Joseph Ostrout of Montgomery; her sister-in-law, Linda Elkins of Hinesburg; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband Elwin Sheltra; and her brother, Richard Elkins.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:30 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the Montgomery Center Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:30 PM until the hour of the funeral.
