RICHFORD - Eleanor J. Barnes, age 60, passed away Monday morning June 6, 2011 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born August 13, 1950 in Brushton, NY the daughter of the late Jeremiah & Sadie (Dewyea) Durgan.
Eleanor has been a longtime resident of Richford. She enjoyed playing cards, BINGO and dice. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends. They will all remember her for her loving heart and willingness to help others.
She is survived by her children, Keith Sochia and his wife April of Richford, Karen Wagner and her husband Carl of Richford, Arthur Sochia Jr of St. Albans, Robert Sochia and his wife Hayley of St. Albans, James Sochia and his wife Linda of Enosburg Falls, Sadie Barnes of Richford and Justin Barnes and his girlfriend Holly of Enosburg Falls; her grandchildren, Kimberly Wagner, Jennifer Wagner, Seth Sochia, Tyler Sochia, Kaylee Sochia and Abbigail Barnes; her siblings and their spouses, Raymond & Linda Durgan of Conway, SC, Mary Stone of Lowville, NY, Marie Downer of Southbridge, MA, Betty Peach and her friend Victor Linnares of Southbridge, MA, Harold & Pearl Durgan of Richford and Bonita & Karl Barnes of Richford; several nieces and nephews; Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her 1st husband, Arthur Sochia and her 2nd husband, Everett Barnes; and her sister, Patricia Johnson.
A memorial service will be held Friday June 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Richford 1st Baptist Church, 30 School St., Richford with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
