ENOSBURGH - Elrick Eugene Bug Robtoy, age 75 passed away on October 4, 2008 surrounded by his loving family at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington following a long illness.
He was born in Enosburgh on September 5, 1933 the son of the late Elrick & Mary (Burnor) Robtoy.
Bug attended School in East Enosburgh. He worked for Atlas Plywood for several years and then moved to New York where he worked for Kent Manufacturing and the Casting Corporation for 20 years before moving back to Vermont. He then worked for the Town of Enosburgh, Vermont State Highway Department, and the Montgomery Toy Factory.
Throughout his life Bug enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, gardening, lawn work, daily rides, card and board games, and his cats, Bandit & Smokey. He also loved Bluegrass concerts, playing his guitar, singing, and square dancing.
He belonged to several organizations over his lifetime including, Cold Hollow Barons Snowmobile Club, VAST, Missisquoi Valley Sportsman Club, and the NRA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marguerite (Snider) Robtoy of Enosburgh; 2 sisters, Arlene Flagg of Bernardston, MA, and Angeline Sciotto of St. Peters, MO; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Felix & Winston Robtoy; five sisters, Ronalda Foote, Dorothy Reed, Harriett Kilbourne, Barbara McKinney, and Laura Robtoy
Bugs family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Fletcher Allen Health Care, and the Franklin County Home Health Agency.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning October 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls.
Visiting hours will be held Monday from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
In keeping with Bugs wishes he will be cremated following the funeral and the committal services will be held on Saturday October 18, 2008 at 1:00 PM at St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center.
