Ernest "Ernie" Ross

April 29, 1940 — April 25, 2011

SWANTON - Ernest Eugene Ross, age 70, received his miracle April 25, 2011 and went to be with his Lord with his loving family by his side. Ernie had fought a valiant battle with lung cancer. Ernie was born on April 29, 1940, in Laager, TN, son of the late Ernest and Alma (Overturf) Ross. Ernie married Patricia Blaisdell, the love of his life, on June 18, 1966.
Ernie was a loyal member of the Methodist Faith, and sincerely prayed that everyone knew his Savior. He attended many Bible studies, was an active member of Emmaus, and loved the Lord.
Lovingly called a curmudgeon by one of his nurses, friends, and family and even strangers never doubted where they stood or what Ernie thought. Ernie was a self-employed maverick. He was a dedicated and hardworking family man. You would often find him showing his love for others by working on projects for them. You might also find him fishing, playing cards, or enjoying the Lake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter April Dawn, his father in law, Willard Blaisdell; mother in law, Izola Spaulding Blaisdell; his brother, Bobby Gifford; brothers in law, Dean Blaisdell, Robert Sweatt, and Doug Stem.
In addition to his wife Patricia, survivors include his daughters, their husbands, and his grandchildren: Alisha (Michael) Adams, Abigail, Alizabeth, Adianna, Michael, Matthew; Anissa (Christopher) Seguin, Ross, Emily, and Samuel, and Timothy Nadeau (foster grandson); Alexa (Joseph) Ferlise, Austin and Ashley; Aneda Ross (Philip Murray), Zachary, Vallary, Hillary, and Aivvary. Also surviving Ernie are his siblings: Mary Stem, Wanda Sweatt, Vicki (David) Talley, and Sonya Patton, his in laws: Emerson Blaisdell, Sandra (Robert) Lemnah, Kermit (Lois) Blaisdell, and Deborah (Alan) Grandshaw. Many nieces and nephews, an Aunt Bonnie Goodhue and many cousins, including one very special cousin, Betty Nan Church with whom he was raised.
Ernie believed heartily in tithing and donated generously to many charities throughout his lifetime.
