ALBURGH- Erwin G. Arnold, age 79, passed away on Thursday, June 15th, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Burlington on October 7, 1943, to the late Howard and Jessie (Lockerby) Arnold.
Erwin attended Alburgh Elementary and High School. Following this he joined the Airforce. He then went on and worked for the NJ Railway out of Rouses Point and NECR, completing 33 years. Erwin and Lorna married on June 20th, 1964, in Alburgh. Erwin was a member of many local organizations, including The American Legion in Alburgh, Masonic Temple of Alburgh, and Columbus lodge NO 11 F6AM.
He is survived by his wife, Lorna (Young) Arnold; children, Judy (Peter) Machia and her children, Miranda (Josh) Tatro, Mallory (Josh) Hooper, Angela Champagne and her children, Kayleigh and Dustin Machia and special friend Kaitlyn Marie, and Sarah Mowll, and her children, Eric and Wesley Mowll; great grand-children, Maria and Ella Tatro, Blake, Everette, and Wyatt Hooper, and Aiden Machia; nephews, John(Lisa) and Ernie (Lisa) Arnold; niece, Robin Melchiorri, sister-in-laws, Janet, Janice, Sheila, Dianne; brother-in-laws, Richard and Don Young all of Canada; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, and loyal companion Riley, "RiRi".
Erwin was predeceased by his parents, his brother, John Arnold, and sister, Elaine Letourneau; sister-in-law, Ann Arnold and brother-in-law, Carl Letourneau; in-laws, Eric and Dorothy Young, and sister-in-law, Joyce Young niece, Cindy Letourneau and nephew, Bruce Letourneau; special friends, Maurice Brow and Paul Zera.
A special thank you to the Bayada Hospice team to include Michelle, Bridget, Max and Father Mike.
Friends and family are invited to Erwin's Life Celebration to include visitation on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, from 1-3:00PM, with a funeral service starting at 3:00PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue Swanton, VT 05488.Interment will follow in Bush Cemetery in Alburgh.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Erwin's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
