Eva McAllister

ENOSBURG FALLS - Eva U. McAllister, age 78, passed away Friday December 24, 2010 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

She was born August 23, 1932 in Schmalleningkem, Lithuania the daughter of the late Otto & Anna (Josupeit) Schillgalies.

Eva emigrated from Lithuania at a very young age making her home in Canada before coming to the United States. She married Lyndon McAllister on April 13, 1951. After raising her children she worked for a brief time as a nurses aid with Franklin County Home Health.

Eva enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, cooking & knitting. Her family will remember her as a very strong and caring mother & grandmother.

Eva is survived by her children and their spouses, Sandra & Wayne Hurtubise of Richford, Gary & Susan McAllister of Enosburg Falls, and Linda & Steven Lothian of St. Albans; a step son and his wife, Roy & Sally McAllister of Richford; many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren; her sister, Annaliese Schillgalies of Sutton, Quebec. She will also be missed by her faithful companion, Sam. Besides her parents, Eva was predeceased by her husband, Lyndon D. McAllister on July 13, 2003; and a great grandson, Joshua Leach on September 7, 1996.

In keeping with Evas wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Richford Center Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
