MONTGOMERY CENTER - Evelyn G. Hart, age 97, passed away Sunday evening, September 20, 2015 at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans.
She was born February 19, 1918 in St. Albans the daughter of the late Harvey & Virginia (Lumbra) Gonyea.
Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Montgomery Center and was a member of St. Isidores Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Theresa Society. Evelyn had a full life with family and friends and enjoyed playing BINGO, card games, bowling and gambling. After getting her license at the age of 71 she enjoyed driving and outings with the Red Hat Girls.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandie Cota of Montgomery Center; her grandchildren and their families, Dana Cota his wife Kelly of Enosburg Falls and their two sons Evan and Connor, and Marty Cota of Montgomery Center his daughter Krystal Hernandez and Krystals daughter, Sahara Hernandez; and her nephews, Brent & Dennis Godin. Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Max P. Hart on, June 15, 1987. Evelyn and Max were married on July 30, 1940. She was also predeceased by her sister, Hilda Godin; brother-in-law, Henry Godin; son-in-law, Bob Cota; and cousin Alvira Arel.
Evelyns family wishes to give a special thanks to the Home Health nurses and the staff at Franklin County Rehab for the special care she received.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Isidores Catholic Church, 169 Mountain Road, Montgomery Center Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. Isidores Cemetery. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visiting hours.
