MONTGOMERY CENTER - Evelyn Eve Sampietro, age 95, passed away on Thursday morning, September 21, 2017 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Montgomery Center.
She was born February 15, 1922 in Jersey City, NJ the daughter of the late Robert Daniel & Jeannette (Snyder) Morrison.
Eve graduated Jersey City High School, and then attended Cooper Union Art School in Manhattan, where she graduated with a degree in the Arts. Eve did a lot of work with Will Gear (the grandpa on the Waltons show) doing Shakespeare, a true passion of hers. This led to her running the Putnam Play House is New York, doing many great plays including The South Pacific, while raising her six children in Mahopac, New York.
After separating from her husband Richard, she went to work for Bloomingdale\u0027s until she was recruited to work for Saks Fifth Avenue, where she ran the perfume department and was a Fashion Model for them. She retired and lived in Putnam for a few years until moving to Myrtle Beach S.C., where she took care of two little girls until she was 78. When she was 80 she moved to Vermont to be helped by family, where she lived out her life, being the loving, happy woman she was until the day she died.
She is survived by her children, Randall Kent Sampietro of Myrtle Beach, SC, Scott Sampietro and his wife Susie of San Antonio, TX, Laurie Sam Murphy and her husband Tim of Montgomery, Robyn Danielle Dani Barnes and her husband Asa of Brewster, NY, and Keith Sampietro and his wife Lori of Montgomery Ctr.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Eve was predeceased by her husband, Richard Henry Sampietro; son, Gary Wayne Sampietro; grandson, Russell Roy Sampietro and her sister, Mildred Charney.
In keeping with Eves wishes she will be cremated and there will be no visiting hours or memorial service.
