ALBURGH - Florence B. Blair, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at her residence in Alburgh with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Alburgh on February 24, 1923 to the late Joseph & Agnes (Blair)Bedard.
Florence graduated from Alburgh High School and was the Class Valedictorian. She married Romeo Blair and raised their two children in Alburgh. She was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Saint Amadeus Catholic Church. Florence was employed by the US Postal Service and retired after 29 years. After retirement Florence & Romeo enjoyed running Lindas Tourist Home on main street. A bed & breakfast that welcomed all, especially the fisherman and tourists in the fall during foliage season. She will be remembered for her love of her family. Florence was always willing to take care of her family especially during times of need from the birth of a new baby in the family to being there to take care of her older siblings during sickness.
Florence is survived by her son, Romeo James Blair of Alburgh, her grandchildren, Jennifer Blair, Romeo James Blair, Jr., Benjamin Blair, Joe Rozwadoski, Deana Elwood, Ann Elwood, Morgan Elwood and her great grandchildren, Shelby, Zebbiant, Lukas, Blake, Wyatt and Rickey. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Romeo, her daughter, Terry Elwood and her siblings, Mary Raymond, Joe Bedard, Paul Bedard, Germaine Raymond, Linda Howell, Frances Bedard and Madeline Lord.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Saint Amadeus Church, Main Street, Alburgh. Interment will follow in Saint Amadeus Cemetery.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
In keeping with Florences wishes, there will be no public visitation.
