RICHFORD / WINDSOR, VT - Frances F. Collins, age 89, passed away on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born July 11, 1923 in Goffstown, NH the daughter of the late George & Mable (Holt) Fiske.
Frances was raised in St. Albans and graduated from BFA in 1941. After high school Frances went to live with her aunt in Waltham, MA where she met the love of her life Arlington Collins. Arlington and Frances were married on July 22, 1950. They made their home in Windsor, VT. Frances worked at the Vermont National Bank in Windsor for 25 years as a loan officer, after retirement she volunteered for meals on wheels and at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital. She enjoyed playing any card games and traveling with friends. Arlington and Frances were married for more than 50 years until he passed away in 2001. Frances moved back to St. Albans in 2005, and had spent the past 15 months at the Our Lady of the Meadows facility in Richford.
She is survived by her children, Sharon McAllister and her husband David of Berkshire, VT, Bruce Collins and his wife Charlotte of Buckhead, GA and Sheila Roberts and her husband Joel of Manassas, VA; her grandchildren, Michael McAllister and his wife Lorraine, Amy Parent and her husband Mark, Marcy Schreindorfer and her husband Brendan, Francis Collins, Michelle Barriero and her husband Thomas, Brian Collins, Greg Roberts and his wife Leah, Rebecca Roberts and Corrine Roberts; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband, Arlington Collins and her brother, Elliot Fiske.
A funeral service will be held Monday August 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the hour of the funeral. Interment will take place at the Ascutney Cemetery, 56 Ascutney St., Windsor, VT at 3:00 PM the same day.
