RICHFORD - Francis J. Couture, age 83, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with his loving family at his side.
He was born August 23, 1931 in East Berkshire the son of the late Leon H. & Luella (Cook) Couture.
Francis was married to Adeline L. (Ramsdell) Couture on May 23, 1953. As a man of God and a farmer all his life, Francis retired from Agway in 1992. He served as Constable for the Town of Berkshire and as Fire Chief for the Berkshire Volunteer Fire Dept.. His strong love for farming was clear to everyone who knew him. A big thank you to the Gang at Pleasant Valley Farm for the special love that they showed for Coutch . Franciss passion was fishing with his grandchildren and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Adeline L. (Ramsdell) Couture of Richford; his children, Wilfred Fred A. Couture and Stacy of Oklahoma, Kenneth Kenny M. Couture Sr. and Lisa of Westford, Rose Donna and Daniel Danny Sr. of Montgomery, Paul J. Couture and Kasi of Oklahoma, and Mary Jane Wetherby and John of Richford; his 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Douglas Domina of Greenville, SC; and special friends, Max Sonny Taylor, Dana Brunton & Sherry Couture. Besides his parents, Francis was predeceased by his siblings, Christine Domina, Florence & Lillian Couture; and his half-brother, Joseph Couture.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church, 152 Main St., Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
